Material range

Three steel grades for three levels of load.

Each WINOX grade is designed for a specific range of tasks — from standard structures to extreme operating conditions. Choose the material by wear level, and we'll help with processing and delivery.

WL 400
WINOX WL 400 — LIGHT

WL 400

WL 400 is a basic wear-resistant steel with guaranteed hardness of 400 HBW. The optimal choice for components that need a balance of wear resistance and processing ease.

360–420 HBWBrinell hardness
~1,000 MPaYield strength
~1,250 MPaTensile strength
≥30 J (-40 °C)Impact toughness

Chemical profile

  • C ≤ 0.20%
  • Si ≤ 0.80%
  • Mn ≤ 1.60%
  • Cr + Mo + Ni — balanced composition

Processability

  • Cuts well with plasma and laser
  • Bends on standard press brakes
  • Weldable with 100–150 °C preheat

Excavator buckets, blades, conveyor trays, dump truck bodies, bunkers.

Preheat to 100–150 °C and use low-hydrogen electrodes when welding.
WM 450
WINOX WM 450 — MEDIUM

WM 450

WM 450 is an enhanced hardness steel for components operating under intensive abrasive and impact loads. Optimal combination of wear resistance and machinability.

420–480 HBWBrinell hardness
~1,200 MPaYield strength
~1,450 MPaTensile strength
≥25 J (-40 °C)Impact toughness

Chemical profile

  • C ≤ 0.26%
  • Si ≤ 0.80%
  • Mn ≤ 1.60%
  • Cr + Mo + Ni — increased alloying elements

Processability

  • Plasma or laser cutting
  • Bending with larger radius than WL 400
  • Welding with 150–200 °C preheat

Bunker linings, crusher jaws, screws, mixer blades, mining equipment parts.

Mandatory preheat to 150–200 °C before welding. Slow cooling after welding.
WX 500
WINOX WX 500 — EXTRA

WX 500

WX 500 is a maximum hardness steel for extreme conditions. Designed for components where wear occurs fastest and standard materials cannot withstand.

470–540 HBWBrinell hardness
~1,300 MPaYield strength
~1,600 MPaTensile strength
≥20 J (-40 °C)Impact toughness

Chemical profile

  • C ≤ 0.30%
  • Si ≤ 0.80%
  • Mn ≤ 1.60%
  • Cr + Mo + Ni + B — maximum alloying

Processability

  • Cutting primarily by plasma
  • Limited bending — large radius
  • Welding with 200–250 °C preheat

Shredder knives, crusher armor plates, screen elements, most loaded bucket parts.

Recommended exclusively for extreme abrasive wear components. Preheat 200–250 °C is mandatory.
